How Time Flies When You're on the Internet

I told my wife, " Honey, all I'm going to do is check my emails, I'll only be a few minutes I promise." I'm pretty sure that we have all said that at least once or twice to our wife or significant other. I mean isn't it amazing how you can be sitting at you computer, at let's say 6:15am with a nice cup of coffee and before you know it your coffee is cold and four hours have past. Where did all the time go? Why was I not interested in that cup of coffee that I was so much in love with at six o'clock in the morning. The cup of coffee that smelled of rich freshly ground brew with just a hint of hazelnut. I wonder if my wife called my name and how many times do you think she called my name before she gave up? Who fed the cat and took out the dog's?
Why am I not hungry until I realize what time it is and how long I've been on the computer? I sat and pondered all those questions the other day and I realized something, it's not the amount of time you spend on the internet but the amount of quality time you spend on the internet. I mean, if your looking for work from home programs you could be on the internet for hours and hours. If your doing research or trying to lower one of your bills for instance your cell phone or auto insurance you could be on the internet for hours. I thought with the amount of information that is on the internet and all the people that are trying to sell you things or try to scam you out of your hard earned money, you could be on the computer a long time just trying to find the information your looking for.
For instance, the other day I was looking for rental homes in the Richmond area for a buddy of mine. I was looking in a particular zone and I wanted just homes not apartments and I knew exactly want I was looking for so it should have been a no brainer right? WRONG! I typed in the header line what I wanted and every website that I went too tried to either sell me something that I didn't want or provide with the wrong information. I also got the " Do you want to check your credit?" and "Do you know your credit score?" sites thrown in there just for fun I guess. They provided me with all this information that I didn't ask for but none of the material that I wanted. Anyway, I believe I've taken enough of your time, I think I see my dog in the corner doing the PEEPEE DANCE so I better go.
